Privacy statement EIBE

The Erasmus Institute for Business Economics processes personal data and uses cookies for this website. In this Privacy Statement we inform you about the purposes for which personal data are processed, how you can exercise your privacy rights and other information that may be of interest to you.

This Privacy Statement applies to all activities of the Erasmus Institute for Business Economics, hereinafter referred to as EIBE. This Privacy Statement provides the most relevant information per subject.

EIBE handles personal data with care and acts within the limits of the law, including the Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming (AVG).

Responsible and responsibility

EIBE processes (possibly) personal data of you if you:
a. visit our website and watch videos on our website;
b. contact us via the contact form on our website;
c. make a request for further information about the products and services offered by EIBE and the enterprises it facilitates;
d. register for an event, program, workshop, course or training offered through EIBE (hereinafter referred to as “program”);
e. register to receive messages from EIBE.

EIBE collects the following (personal)data:
a. name, address, email address;
b. in case of registration for a program: also telephone number, date of birth, gender, billing address, bank account number (of yourself or that of the paying organization), the program for which you have registered and any further agreements made between you and EIBE;
c. if you visit any page of our website or view the videos, we automatically obtain and store on our server the data provided by your browser, in particular your IP address, cookie information and the page you visit;
d. detailed analysis information that helps us improve our website, as well as an existing video and our services, and / or to determine what content we should offer in the future.

EIBE can use the information we collect from you in the following ways:
a. to contact you with information relevant to you (for example in the context of a [new] program, announcement of a master class, sending the presented sheets to a program that you have followed);
b. to enable the purchase of services and the purchase and dispatch of products by EIBE;
c. to compile a list of participants for a program for which you have registered;
d. to record your choices, as well as the interaction we have with you, in order to be able to tailor how we will communicate with you in the future (for example, by not sending you information about a service that you have already received) ;
e. to be able to send news (letters);
f. to make “viewer-based tracking” possible: with this we can see which videos (also in combination with each other) are attractive for the customers of our services;
g. to send you a survey about a program in which you have participated, as well as about topics that we consider important to improve services from EIBE;
h. to make authorizations for payments and payments as such possible and to take care of our financial administration;
i. to manage and improve our website.

All information you provide, whether electronic, oral or written, will be treated confidentially by EIBE.

We use the following rules for commercial e-mails and messages:
a. We do not use false or misleading indications or e-mail addresses;
b. We make the physical address of EIBE public;
c. We monitor third parties for compliance with the rules regarding the use of marketing instruments;
d. We honor requests for deregistration in the shortest possible term (for example, with regard to newsletters) and have a link to this end on the relevant e-mails.

You can always choose not to provide certain information to us and / or to have the information that we store about you changed or removed by e-mail to EIBE. Please be aware that certain information is needed to register for a program or to use certain services.

Any time you wish to unsubscribe from future e-mails, please e-mail us at eibe@ese.eur.nl and we will remove you from all correspondence within 30 days.

Data sharing with third parties

Commissioned by EIBE, third parties can provide certain parts of the service to implement an agreement. EIBE makes agreements with these processors to guarantee confidential and careful handling of personal data. These agreements are contractually recorded in so-called “processor agreements”

Your personal data will not be rented, sold or otherwise shared with or provided to third parties. EIBE can share your (personal) data with third parties if, for example, you have given your consent or if this is necessary for the implementation of the agreement.

EIBE provides personal information to enforcement authorities or anti-fraud organizations when necessary to comply with a legal obligation.

If you do not agree with the processing of your personal data where this is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or if this is necessary for the execution of the agreement, the execution of the agreement may not proceed.

View, correct or delete data and object

You can address an inspection or correction request to EIBE. Indicate clearly that this is a request for inspection or correction under the AVG.

You can also request that your data be deleted, but this is only possible insofar as EIBE can still meet its legal obligations, such as the legal retention periods. Please note that providing a copy of proof of identity may be required to verify your identity. You can easily make a safe copy of your proof of identity with the government’s “Copy Id” app that you can download in the app store.

You are furthermore entitled to submit a complaint about the use of your data with the Personal Data Authority.

Security of your data and the use of cookies

EIBE will only use your data for the purposes stated in this privacy statement and will not store it for longer than necessary.

EIBE will take adequate technical and organizational measures to protect your data. The data is only accessible to a limited number of people who have been given specific rights to consult the systems and use the personal data. They are required to keep the personal data confidential.

EIBE uses cookies when offering services. A cookie is a small text file that, when you visit the website, is placed on the hard drive of your computer, tablet or telephone. A cookie contains data so that you can be recognized as a visitor every time you visit the website. It is then possible to set the website especially for you and / or to facilitate logging in. You can always disable cookies in your browser, without this having far-reaching consequences for the use of the website. However, the result may be that certain parts are less or no longer accessible to you.

We use Google Analytics to get as much anonymized insight as possible into visitor flows and pageviews on our website. No personal information is collected that can be traced back to you. We have not given Google permission to use the collected data for its own purposes. You can refuse the use of cookies by adjusting the settings in your browser. Visitors have the option of navigating to external websites from our websites. When the visitor selects the option to view the content of these websites, they navigate away from the EIBE website to that other web site. Various cookies may be used when you visit those other websites. EIBE is not responsible for cookies that are used on those other websites.

EIBE stores your personal data in accordance with the AVG. The data is not stored for longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which the data were collected.

Data leak
If there is a data leak with the risk of serious adverse consequences for the personal data, this will be reported to the Dutch Data Protection Authority. You will be notified by email within 7 working days of a suspicion of a data leak.

A data leak is the unauthorized access (ie without the permission of the relevant companies or government agencies) to access, change, destroy, process or in any way disclose personal data.

Provision of data to third parties

With the exception of what is stated in this privacy statement and the other paragraphs of this article, EIBE will not provide the personal data that we collect from you to third parties, unless you have given your explicit permission to do so EIBE is required to do so by law or a court decision.

If necessary, EIBE will provide your name and address to the delivery service that delivers the items you ordered to the address you provided.

The third parties referred to in this article only use the data for the purpose for which they are intended.
